Should I apologize to my teacher?

Okay....last Friday my band teacher was ticked off because her one class stole a bag of chips we had for an event and ate them and took them to the instrument room. Well, since I am an aide 3rd period, I noticed that there were chips scadered on the floor, and a roach in that room on Wednesday. So I was going to tell her, but that day we had gotten flowers delivered to her and I totally forget beacause as soon as the bell rang my friend and I went to get them. So Thirsday in my aiding period I notice it and I was like "Dang I have to tell her!" but I forget again. So I was at school late Friday and I was getting my instrument to take home, and I saw and I was like "I'm telling her now!" And I was like "Just so you know, those chips are scadered in the insrument room and I saw a roach and some baby spiders..it's been like that a while." She wasn't in a terrific mood that day anyway, but she got kind ticked off and was like "A while!?" And I was like "Yeah I noticed it Wednesday."

Should I apologize to my teacher?
She wasn't upset at YOU. She is upset at the lack of communication. The best thing you can tell her is "I will work on my communication skills and try not to get sidetracked when important imformation needs to go to people." That shows that you are taking responsibility for yourself and that you know you need to prioritize things better. Believe me, that will make her happy!
Reply:I think she figured you were purposely not telling her beings you knew since Wednesday. The way you said it was like basically "oh ya there's a mess back there, see ya" Just go back to her and explain why you had not told her until when you did so she understands that you wasn't just purposely not telling her. Tell her the truth about who stole them too because she could be blaming the wrong group.
Reply:Yes, I think you should apoligize just so you don't stay on her bad side. Tell her what you told us. It's not like you were distracted for a pointless reason, you were doing her a favor by getting her flowers she should be happy with you and not grouchy. Good luck.
Reply:If you feel bad go clean up the mess when your aiding one day. After all, you are an aid. Go clean up the mess and tell your teacher when your done, "i clean up the room."
Reply:I would tell her that it's maybe cause she yells when people tell her stuff and people are scare of her. But wait till shes got a chance to chill out.
Reply:just let her know you were busy and things kept getting in the way... I hope that this helps
Reply:Atleast u told her u dont owe her and explaination
Reply:no, sounds like she's got a problem. she should be thanking you for telling her!
Reply:Then tell your teacher.
Reply:Don't worry i am sure it will all blow over
Reply:Well good on you for telling her, I don't think I would of.
Reply:First, it's really sweet that you care about your teacher's feelings. Many students don't (take it from a college instructor). You didn't do anything wrong, its not your duty to report on the state of a classroom. However, if you feel bad this is what I would do personally.

I would talk to her on Monday and apologize for not letting her know about the problem sooner and offering to help with any cleanup that might need to be done. Just let her know that you respect how hard she works and you want to be there to help her with anything you can.

I bet though that by Monday she will have forgotten this whole thing.
